Work environment

Together with the English Speaking Catholic Council of Montreal, we are organizing a series of in-person information sessions for people 50 years and older at three English-speaking, Catholic parishes in the Montreal area.  We are hoping to hold sessions on the following dates:

27 - 29 July, 2021
24 - 26 August, 2021
21 - 23 September, 2021

The format would be two speakers for each session who would each speak for approximately 45 minutes.

We are currently looking for experienced persons who are able to speak in English, about either healthy eating among older persons OR mental wellness.

Healthy Eating
The ideal speaker will prepare a presentation of 30 minutes (15 minutes to be reserved for questions) for adults over the age of 50 years old
Topics within the presentation may include: change in appetite, the importance of nutrients, overall health and wellness, cooking for one or fewer people in the house, or any other nutrition factor which specifically addresses the needs of people over 50 years old.
Audio-visual equipment will be provided on site if required

Mental Wellness
The ideal speaker will prepare a presentation of 30 minutes (15 minutes to be reserved for questions) for adults over the age of 50 years old
Topics within the presentation may include the effect of change of routine in early retirement, loss of a loved one, physical activity as it relates to mental health, how to stay mentally active and healthy, or any other mental wellness information which specifically addresses the needs of people over 50 years old.
Audio-visual equipment will be provided on site if required

The three parishes are located in the Notre Dame de Grâce or Beaconsfield areas and the presentations will be held indoors with appropriate social distancing and maximum alloted persons.  The remuneration is considered an honorarium for the day and not an hourly wage regarding preparation or travel time.
