The West Island Women’s Centre is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life of women.   As part of its ongoing programming to support women, the West Island Women’s Centre (WIWC) created several discussion groups exclusively for women 55 years and older and is looking to provide a group focused on physical fitness.  In this discussion group, the main focus will be on providing information and a demonstration of physical activity.  

This one-day commitment requires a qualified fitness instructor to provide physical fitness information to a group of women 55 years old and older as well as a demonstration of a few exercises, ideal for aging women.

This position is an in-person role at the Women’s Centre’s location in Pointe-Claire, where appropriate public health measures are in place with respect to Covid-19. 

WORK DAYS & HOURS: One day between mid-September and November 2021.  The session with demonstration should be a total of 1.5 hours.  A maximum of 30 minutes is suggested to prepare this interaction in advance.  Total hours shall be 2 hours - the TOTAL PAY is $68.00.  Please note: This position will be paid directly by the West Island Women’s Centre, and you will NOT be an employee of Kigi Agency.

Work environment

  • Certified or retired certified fitness instructor in Quebec or Canada
  • Proven experience working as a fitness instructor and providing fitness information
  • Good understanding of human physiology in aging women
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, creative thinking
  • Ability to explain and demonstrate exercises with a group
  • Bilingual English/French an asset –oral
